Small Pieces

It doesn't really got to my mind that I did do a lot of small tasks. Tackling stuff down and bringing to recycle bins made the house empty. It's really the small steps that made a huge impact. I have walked plenty times to the glass bin or donation bin.

Before I started minimalism I had the habit of filling a huge bag and letting it sit for weeks or months before I finally find it's time to put it in the bin. I also find it easier to decide to donate a piece of clothing because there isn't a huge bag reminding me that I already donated that much.

I find myself a bit hypocrite to think like that because I did received a lot of hand-me-down while growing up and I did enjoy wearing those clothes or playing with those toys. Why do I put that clothing back in my closet if it doesn't suit me anymore, somebody else can enjoy it and have so much more fun with it. I also think if I receive something I also have to give back.

So now I go more often to those bin but with a smaller package. It's not easy to be a minimalist but knowing that I am recycling and donating stuff in small batches it gives me a great feeling about myself. One minimalist isn't able to create a huge effect but while the numbers of minimalist grows it does.
