On Display

In the past half year I have made sure that my shelves are less cluttered. I made sure to put just the minimum on the surfaces. I am not aiming for the pinterest pictures where everything is put away. I like the fact that there are some personal items on display. It just shouts who lives in that house.

My treasure room and desk are basically pinterest worthy scenery. But that doesn't mean I have to make a picture to show anybody. I find my sanctuary in knowing the beauty and meaning behind how I get there. I have a lot other stuff that are still on display. For example I have my stuff to be sorted out on a makeshift table.

I am not perfect and nobody expect that. And what I find so lovely about the things on display is, I chose that item for that specific spot. The Forever Friends statue is a reflection of me loving my bed and sleep. The eightball also reflects that I am a little superstition. Okay, if you read my post 'Leeg Houden!' you will understand why I choose to put something on that spot.

The common reason to put something on the surface is that the item is used frequently. I found out that a lot of stuff on display aren't used at all. So I decided to clear my triangle glass with coupon and mp3. That's not all that I cleared. I made sure that the coupons will be in a red plastic holder. Why red because it's noticeable, it springs in site whenever I go through my stuff or in my bag.

I also carefully checked what I need. It's hard to put away things like paper and small stuff but in the end after the whole process of identify the object, decision making and relocating it's cleared. In the end I don't have to deal with it until I really need it and take it to use.
