I still remember the first time I watched Big Brother. It was aired and because it was a hype and internet wasn't a known media yet, we all watched it. And now we are in front of a camera every day. Perhaps because I lived in a time where privacy is normal, I never liked camera's.
But now even behind my laptop, I am in front of a camera. Of course I did put something before the lens cause when working it looks like I am being spied on. I am very conscious of that camera and that's not the only one.
The smartphone and tablet both have two lenses. I do cover the front lens of my tablet cause I don't like it. It's handy but when I don't need it, I put something in front of it. The back camera is a bit difficult so I let that pass. The handy is a different matter cause it's in my back pocket and those things I put in front of the camera constantly fall off.
When changing clothes I even put every camera device that's able to connect with the internet underneath my blankets or cushion. It's funny how conscious I am of the camera even in stores. I just see those hanging and lurking around. It's like we're being spied on 24/7.
Technology has made my life easier but what is the price that I am paying. Am I able to protect my privacy and still enjoy the ease of current technology? I think you have to be conscious about things like that and do everything you can to decrease the Big Brother influence. Cause it's a matter of time you're filmed and put online for the world to see.
