Things I Count

It's really what the "real" minimalist person does, counting their possessions. Making a list with all their belongings and hoping it'll be exactly 100. Now, I am not really mocking the hardcore minimalist but it's not realistic for everyone.

The value of being a minimalist is being able to live life to the simplest. As I am not an American, who is uber influenced  by the commercials and the excess lifestyle that the country promotes. I find that the their culture is a bit more aggressive in every aspect. Like there is no middle way, an alternative.

But there are things that I count. I find languages very interesting. I count the languages that I can speak and understand. For example I can speak and understand five languages, which means I can make a conversation with someone without relaying on a dictionary. But in addition I can understand two more languages which is pretty cool.

Another thing I count is the places I have been. I've counted the places that I once visited and there are quite some. Too much to write down and a too much of a hassle. Aboard and overseas, airplanes, cars and trains. The memories of those trips are uncountable.

My bag addiction has been counted before cause it took too much space in my closet. The thing I also counted before are my shoes. I have less than 10 pair.

With just my bags and shoes I reach 50 with ease. So I think, I won't become a real hardcore minimalist. Because what counts for me is living live too the fullest without unnecessarily stuff.
