Last week I went shopping with one of my siblings and found a great deal at a drugstore. I found storage boxes on sale. Most of the time it cost about 3 to 4 euro's but that day I found it for €2,-. So without any hesitation I bought it. Of course, I was already searching for a box or a carton box.
Last year I got rid of our huge side table which is a television cabinet. I already mentioned before that in the living room we have blankets laying around and that it has no place to be stored. So I bought it and shifted the remote bucket to the blanket 'space' and filled the empty spot left by the bucket.
I also got my hot glue gun out and the wheels I bought at the start of the year went underneath the box. The results are stunning. I use the box to store the blanket, it can also be used as a walking aid for my nephew and a park attraction. I put my nephew in it and raced through the living room. He had so much fun that he kept searching for the box afterwards.
I did thought of buying one extra so I can put one on top but the plastic wasn't really sturdy and I tried it in the shop if it falls easily. In the end I settled with just one. My mother was also pleased about the results. It looks nice and it can also be used for her grandchild. She pressured me afterwards about buying another one. I told her for now it's enough if we really need extra storage I'll reconsider buying another one.
If the price falls to €1,- or less I will buy it to replace the huge ones I have upstairs. It will slim down my belongings and create extra living space. It will get me to an even more minimalistic situation. It's not only smart to think a head but it also saves me time when in stores.
This DIY is something I made within minutes but it's so precious because we all have fun with it. These small projects may look childlike but it adds so much to the joy of living. I hope that once you create something no matter how small, you can look at it with a smile on your face.
