Use frugally and think

Two weeks ago I hanged up my almost empty plastic tubes of handcream and eyecream. I thought they would just last for another week and then I could throw it in the trash. So I use both of them every night and morning. And they are still hanging and thats kinda bothersome and awesome at the same time.

Eyecreams are kinda expensive and using every drop is worth it. So getting everything out of the tube is fun. But than I have the handcream I really thought it was empty untill I hanged it up (the tube is always in my bag). Gravity is really doing its job, every drop doesn't get wasted.

So after hanging it up and folding it  I've replaced my bag handcream with a small version of Herome (got it for 50% off when buying two products). But it got me thinking about products design.

There are different solution in using products frugally. This example of toothpaste tube looks awesome but no one will ever produce this. It's to expensive and there are other solutions. Producing it means altering machines and perhaps buying new machinery. This is one of the things which will cost more than the actual benefits. But we have to thank the designers in putting their time in thinking of these thing. Perhaps in the future it will be used for something else than toothpaste.

So what actions do you take to be frugal?
