It doesn't mean I don't appreciate the technology. No, I adore it and it can be cost effective if you use the device in the right way. Hand-phones in general has made watch sales decrease and with the new watch devices coming out one after another it will have an even bigger impact.
But one thing doesn't change in my opinion and that's the clock in it's purest form. The thing you place somewhere visible all times. So you can check the time at a glance.

I have one in my workplace, my mom has three in her bedroom. So it's time to check those out. Currently I use a world time clock/calculator/calendar/alarm. It's really nice but the display is a bit small. I'm planning to replace it with a bigger one. The reason is simple I want it visible without any distractions.
In my bedroom I am placing the small traveler alarm. It has a light button and it's fold-able. The alarm is easy to set and it's minimalistic in it's own way.

And I like to use digital clocks instead of the normal ones. They don't tick, the noise can drive me crazy at times but I liked it when I was a teenager. Right now, I only have digital clocks because it use cell buttons. It's cheap and I don't need to replace them as often.
It seems strange in this digital age to have so many clock's. Though it's my personal preference. I find clocks still important in my daily life. You may not agree but this minimalist like to keep things a simple as possible.
