The weather is great and I am enjoying the sun. Of course I use sunblock to protect myself and against the trend I am still wearing long-sleeve shirt. The last past days I haven't spent a lot of my time behind a computer screen or thinking about how to clean this up. I lay on my old yoga mat in the garden and enjoy the heat.
I wanted to use the sun for drying my clothes but unfortunately I haven't accumulated enough clothing for a washing cycle. So I haven't been doing a lot. While sunning my mind drifted back at the state of our living room. It's not chaotic but not everything is in it's place.
Time to do some thinking. What is my ideal living room.
- Easy to clean
- Few stuff on display
- Easy access to stuff
- Homey feel
Our living room has a lot of chairs. It makes vacuuming and mopping the floor 'the *hit' chores around the house. Constantly moving chairs around to clean. So having a floor plan makes everything so much easier. There are six chairs, sofa, baby chair and a fold-able chair.
The fold-able chair has a place to call home. The sofa, idem ditto. Then I am still left with 6 chairs. One is behind the computer. Four goes around the dining table and the other one goes somewhere next to the sofa. That's what I thought at first but with continues changes going on. I think I am planning to put it next to our side table. Easy for those who need to sit to put their shoes on and for bags.
The thing with an almost empty surface is that just a few stuff makes it crowded. So time to make some countermeasures. There are places that needs stuff. Like the computer desk has a mouse and a keyboard. Those things are quite normal. I have to put those odd things out of site. Like my candle shouldn't be on display when it's not lit or my bag should be in a cabin when not used.
Those small reminders should help me to create my ideal living room.
